#1
WE IMITATE OUT SAVIOR WHEN WE MINISTER (Mark
10:45): To be a Christian means to be like Jesus, and He lived a
life of service to others. When you become a believer, you become a
minister. A non-serving Christian is a contradiction in terms.
#2
MINISTRY IS THE EXPECTED RESULT OF
SALVATION (Eph.
2:10): Salvation in Jesus Christ automatically includes a call
to ministry. One of the primary reasons God gave His Son to save us
is so that we will do good works. We are
saved to serve!
#3
MINISTRY IS THE BEST USE OF OUR GIFTS (1
Peter 4:10): God call all believers to faithfully serve others.
Since our talents and abilities are a gift from God, we should use
those talents and abilities in His service. Developing and using
your gifts is an act of worship and of good stewardship.
#4
THE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH ARE THE
MINISTERS OF THE CHURCH (Eph.
4:11-12): The primary responsibility of the pastor in the local
church is to "prepare God's people for works of service." Therefore,
the ministry of Cornerstone Community Baptist Church will be placed
as much as possible in the hands of non-vocational workers. The
equipping of people for ministry is one of the highest priorities of
the pastoral staff. The people are the ministers and the pastors are
the administrators.
#5
EVERY MINISTRY IS IMPORTANT (1
Cor. 12:18-22): There are no insignificant ministries in the
body of Christ. Like the human body, every part of the church body
is essential. Every person has a unique mix of abilities, gifts and
personality traits. Each person has something to contribute that no
one else can.
#6
A CHURCH WILL BE MOST EFFECTIVE WHEN
EVERY BELIEVER IS A MINISTER (Romans
12:4,5): The church in an organism, similar to the human body.
Each part of the body is interdependent. So it is with the body of
Christ. When every person in the church is participating in
ministry, the church is healthy and strong. When people are not
serving, the whole body suffers.
#7
MINISTRY IS THE PATH TO TRUE FULFILLMENT (Acts
20:35): One of the best ways to have a sense of purpose and
satisfaction in your Christian life is by serving other people. As
we become involved in the work of God's kingdom and in the lives of
other people, we discover a fulfillment that can never be found in
self-directed pursuits.
